The production of Suicide Squad is spilling out onto the streets of downtown Toronto. "On Monday, Yonge Street was transformed into the scene of a spectacular plane crash."
Pictures shared on social media mark the first major taste of what writer and director David Ayer has planned for audiences when the film is released in August 2016.
The film is about a "secret government agency [that] recruits imprisoned supervillains to execute dangerous black ops missions in exchange for clemency," according to IMDB.
Last month, fans were treated to a first look at Oscar-winner Jared Leto in full Joker regalia. The Batman villain will be featured in the film.
The costume features similarities with previous incarnations of the Joker— the signature lime-green hair and white face paint— but Leto's version of the iconic character has evolved into a metal-toothed, tattooed maniac with a slick car.
Suicide Squad, which will be written and directed by Ayer, also stars Will Smith as Deadshot, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flagg, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, and Cara Delevingne as Enchantress.
