Canadian on death row says he's changed man
One of the few Canadians facing the death penalty in the United States is set to appeal to authorities who will decide his fate that he doesn't deserve to die for a crime he committed 30 years ago.
Ron Smith hopes Montana board will let him live
One of the few Canadians facing the death penalty in the United States told the CBC's Mark Kelley in an interview that aired Tuesday on Connect that he's not the same person he was.
"I had a moment where emotions and anger got the best of me and I committed a horrible crime — that doesn't define me," the Red Deer, Alta., native told Kelley in an interview conducted inside a Montana prison. "If you want to define me, then take a look at the 30 years."
