Clintons subject of explosive new book
An explosive new book about former President Bill Clinton says independent prosecutors were prepared to indict him and his wife, Hillary Rodham Clinton, for their roles in the Whitewater and Monica Lewinsky affairs.
Author Ken Gormley also writes in The Death of American Virtue: Clinton vs. Starr that ex-intern Lewinsky believed Bill Clinton lied in grand jury testimony about their relationship.
The book is to be published in February; The Associated Press obtained a copy of it on Friday.
Former independent counsel Kenneth Starr's office spent millions in the 1990s on a probe of Clinton's affair with Lewinsky and efforts to cover it up. It also investigated real estate dealings the Clintons had with the Whitewater Development Corp.
Calls to representatives for both Clintons weren't immediately returned Friday.
