U.S. President Donald Trump announced that the Republican Party's national convention, a key event in his re-election campaign, has been cancelled because of a surge in coronavirus cases in the state. Trump initially moved the convention from Charlotte, N.C., to Jacksonville to avoid pandemic-related restrictions. His formal renomination will still go ahead in Charlotte.
