Watch Chris Christie and Jimmy Fallon 'dad dancing'
New Jersey governor on The Tonight Show
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Thursday night, and entertained the audience with a segment called "the evolution of dad dancing."
The dance moves included the "lawnmower," the "honk the horn" and "the dance you do at a Springsteen concert."
In the last move of the dance, Fallon pokes fun at Christie over the controversial bridge scandal in New Jersey. A legislative investigation into members of Christie's staff who apparently intentionally shut down lanes of a busy bridge, snarling traffic, in an act of political retribution, is ongoing.
Christie has been touted as a possible contender for the 2016 Republican nomination and is trying to repair the damage to his reputation. He is criss-crossing the U.S., appearing at various events, to raise money for the party, appearing on late-night talk shows in the process.
“Hypothetically, you run for president,” Mr. Fallon said to Christie. “Hypothetically, Hillary Clinton runs for president. Hypothetically, do you think you could beat her?”
“Hypothetically, you bet,” Christie replied. “In a dance-off,” Fallon said. “That’s what I was talking about,” Christie said, setting up the dance segment. “What were you talking about?”
Fallon's dance duo with Christie follows a variation he did earlier in the year with Michelle Obama, wife of the U.S. president, that was called the "evolution of mom dancing."
