Supporters of Pakistan's ex-premier Imran Khan, who are calling for his release from prison where he has been since August 2023, clashed with security personnel and set fire to a police check post in the capital Islamabad on Monday evening. Confrontations continued Tuesday as security forces fired tear gas at protesters after they defied a police lockdown to march on the capital.
