Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre promised Wednesday that if elected prime minister, he will make life sentences mandatory for anyone convicted of trafficking, producing or exporting more than 40 mg of fentanyl. Poilievre says his proposed changes are ‘necessary to uphold the Charter of Rights and Freedoms.’
