Vancouver's Stephen James, with visual effects studio DNEG, hoisted an Academy Award last weekend for his work on the blockbuster film Dune: Part Two, directed by Montreal's Denis Villeneuve. The visual effects producer said shooting on location and bringing a documentary-movie-like mindset helped the team bag the award.
