Supporters of Istanbul’s popular mayor Ekrem Imamoglu clashed with riot police after his arrest on allegations of corruption and aiding a terrorist group. A political rival of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Imamoglu was expected to run in the next national election.
