A who’s who of women leaders and public figures gathered today to mark the 100th anniversary of women’s suffrage in Newfoundland and Labrador. On April 3, 1925, women achieved the right to vote and hold public office — the culmination of decades of activism by local suffragettes. Today their story is being celebrated, but their work is ongoing.
