Professors taking UBC to court over 'political' actions by administration
Four professors and a graduate student are taking the University of British Columbia to court. They claim UBC is breaching laws that require it to be non-political through its use of Indigenous land acknowledgements, the promotion of DEI initiatives, and a statement by the UBC Okanagan Senate on the war between Israel and Hamas. UBC graduate Josh Dehaas, a lawyer who's working on this case, says the issues are matters of public policy debate.
