A Toronto Island author is celebrating the release of her new book based on a true story about a boy in 1898 who was disabled and made a harrowing journey to SickKids Hospital. As CBC’s Talia Ricci explains, the author says her goal is to advocate for the inclusion of children with illnesses and disabilities in literature.
