During the French-language leaders’ debate on Wednesday, Radio-Canada journalist and debate moderator Patrice Roy asked Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre how it is possible for him to both protect Radio-Canada while at the same time defunding CBC. Poilievre says there is a role for the government in funding French news services. NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh says he would protect both Radio-Canada and CBC.
