Vancouver lobbies province to ban no-pet clauses in rental housing
Many tenants have been greeted with the familiar 'no pets' clause when seeking rental housing in B.C. Last week, Vancouver councillors voted unanimously to support a motion that would see the city lobby the province to get rid of no-pet clauses in rental contracts. Victoria Shroff, a lawyer who specializes in animal rights, said that pets were affected just like any other family member by the ongoing housing crisis.
