Liberal Joanne Thompson told cheering supporters that Canada will never be the 51st state, and the national leader will never be a ‘governor.’ Thompson was re-elected in the riding of St. John’s East Monday night. In her victory speech, she told supporters, ‘I’m here because of you.’
