A team of University of British Columbia researchers says it has developed a technology to help highrise buildings withstand major earthquakes. With Natural Resources Canada estimating coastal B.C has a one-in-five chance of a major earthquake hitting within the next 50 years, it could play a crucial role for cities on B.C.'s West Coast -— as they prepare for "the big one."
