A group of Democratic and Republican U.S. senators met with Prime Minister Mark Carney in Ottawa to reaffirm support for strong diplomatic and trade ties with Canada despite the U.S.-launched trade war, and U.S. President Donald Trump’s repeated threats to make Canada the 51st state.
