A new Auditor General’s report finds the cost of buying U.S.-made F-35 stealth fighter jets has ballooned almost 50 per cent from an estimated $19 billion to $27.7 billion — and that’s without the additional cost of weapons and infrastructure. The program is also facing a shortage of trained pilots.
