At the end of question period on Thursday, Speaker Francis Scarpaleggia rose to acknowledge the 10th birthday of the Parliamentary Protective Service (PPS). The speaker called PPS members ‘the heart of democracy’ in Canada. Members of Parliament joined in celebrating PPS members, with applause lasting over a minute.
