Alberta separatists failed their first electoral test. Why that doesn't necessarily mean the movement is over
Voters in the Alberta riding of Olds-Didsbury-Three Hills rejected the leader of a separatist party who was running in a byelection. He finished in third place. The riding was thought to be favourable for him. It’s where the only separatist to ever be elected to the legislature won a seat in 1982.
