Alberta's transportation minister sent a letter late in June to ask for a meeting with Calgary Mayor Jyoti Gondek to talk about cycling infrastructure. Bike Calgary, a local cycling advocacy group, hopes Alberta won't follow suit with Ontario, where the Doug Ford government has given itself powers to remove existing bike lanes and require approvals for new projects.
