Consumers clamp down on discretionary spending amid trade war
Canada's Competition Bureau is furthering its investigation into Amazon's pricing policy to determine if the online seller's rules are "an abuse of dominance" under the Competition Act. The update comes as Amazon celebrates its annual sale event called Prime Day, running from July 8 to July 11. While the retailer promises big savings, there are questions about how much customers stand to benefit and whether the company's competition is catching up.
