The very first Hermès Birkin bag sold for a record seven million euros, or about $11.2 million Cdn, at an auction in Paris on Thursday. Bidding for the bag, created by the French fashion house exclusively for late actor and fashion icon Jane Birkin in 1984, started at one million euros, or about $1.6 million Cdn.
