A wide variety of substances are entering the unregulated drug supply here in Alberta and across Canada, deepening the opioid crisis. Synthetic opioids, tranquilizers, and other drugs can be mixed together — often without users knowing. Experts say this could mean greater risk of toxicity, and a harder road to recovery.
