Saskatchewan Public Safety Minister Tim McLeod has requested as many as 300 firefighters, along with helicopters, water haulers and sprinklers, to protect communities. Up to this point, the Sask Party government refused to ask for federal aid, saying Ottawa did not have what Saskatchewan needed.
