The St. John's SPCA broke ground Thursday at the site of its new facility. The building will replace the current facility near St. John's International Airport, which according to SPCA executive director Karen Mahoney is at full capacity. Mahoney expects the new SPCA will open in spring 2026, but the organization has $1.2 million left to raise as its new building is constructed.
