Dr. Fraser MacKay, an ER doctor and a member of the Canadian Association of Emergency Physicians, says staff shortages affect doctors' decisions on how much and how long to work. He tells BC Today host Michelle Eliot he gets requests every day to pick up shifts across the country, but physicians cannot be in multiple places at once.
