John Doyle is facing the wrath of Leicester after he called the UK city "unglamorous". The Globe and Mail's TV critic made the reference in a review of the CBC documentary, 'Richard III: King in the Car Park', writing that the program was a "fascinating, madcap excursion through the story of how the remains of Richard III were finally located by digging under a mundane car park in the unglamorous city of Leicester".
Leicester's Mayor, Sir Peter Soulsby, has come forward to defend the city, and in a rebuttal to Mr Doyle, Sir Peter said, "He's obviously never been here". And went on to highlight the city's long and impressive history.

But John Doyle is sticking to his guns. He tells Carol that he is telling the truth about Leicester*, and when he checked the city's 'What's On' guide, one of the highlights was an ad for dog agility classes.
