NDP Press Attache Greta Levy found herself right in front of the Ottawa shooter. The man had already shot and killed Cpl. Nathan Cirillo, 24, who was standing guard at the National War Memorial. Then he headed into the Centre Block on Parliament Hill, just as Levy was on her way out.
He was "two or three metres away" Levy tells Carol.
"I saw a youngish man -- twenties or thirties -- who I think was Caucasian, maybe under six feet, with dark hair, dark clothes, and a long gun in both of his hands."
"The second I saw him, and the gun, my mind just went blank." The shooter, later identified as Canadian Michael Zehaf-Bibeau, is dead.
