Grammy-winning musician, songwriter, producer and arranger Booker T. Jones has worked with the likes of Otis Redding, Wilson Pickett, Sam & Dave, Willie Nelson, Bob Dylan and Neil Young.

In his new memoir, Time Is Tight: My Life Note by Note, he opens up about the pressures that he faced throughout his life: first, as the leader of Booker T. & the M.G.'s (one of the first high-profile racially integrated bands of the 1960s), and later as a solo artist and producer.

Jones joined q's Tom Power from a studio in New York to share a few stories from his memoir.

Time Is Tight: My Life Note by Note is out now. Along with the book, Jones has also released a companion album, called Note By Note.
