This year marked the 30-year anniversary of the release of Prince's album Sign o' the Times. It's an album many fans and critics consider to be the greatest in the late musician's legacy.

Susan Rogers was the audio engineer that recorded that album and many others with Prince. We asked her to break down some of the songs on that album and tell us what she felt he was trying to achieve at that moment in his career.

Below, you can watch a previously unreleased version of one of Prince's most famous songs, Nothing Compares 2 U, with a rare video of his rehearsal footage. The late musician's estate has released the song to pay tribute to him ahead of the second anniversary of his death on April 21. Rogers oversaw the recording.
