Sandra Oh: Diverse casting should be the new normal
Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild winning actress Sandra Oh joins Jian to reflect on life post-Grey's Anatomy and her memorable turn as Dr. Cristina Yang. She also shares her Canadian ex-pat take on Hollywood and, for the first time, reveals her involvement in an animation project called Window Horses.
The feature film, which is set to launch an IndieGoGo campaign next week, will tell the story of a young Chinese-Persian-Canadian woman who travels to Iran for a poetry festival and discovers her culture.
"[Vancouver filmmaker Ann Marie Flemming] brought me this project and I fell completely in love with it," she says.
"It's to also bring those Persian voices," Oh says about her motivation behind bringing Window Horses to the screen. "I'm looking for Iranian-American actors. I'm trying to find actors who will help out to keep the authenticity."
