When Lauren Graham returned to her famous Gilmore Girls role in a new Netflix miniseries that catches up with the cult TV show's characters, she found it difficult to say the words, "I'm Lorelai Gilmore."

"I didn't know that I'd ever get to say that again," explained Graham. "What was new in coming back was a great deal of emotion surrounded it, a real sense of gratitude and an ability to be present in a way that I hadn't been."

Now nine years removed from when the show first wrapped up, Graham is able to gain some perspective on her experience. This is all detailed in her new book, Talking as Fast as I Can: From Gilmore Girls to Gilmore Girls (and Everything in Between), which is out now.

"You kind of gauge the success of something from what you hear from people," she continued. "To understand now, at an older age, the positive influence, I felt a real sense of pride in that. I owe it all to the people."
