There's this invisible divide that separates English Canada from French Canadians, but Bobby Bazini wants to break through that barrier with his latest album Summer is Gone. Bazini's last record was the number one album across the country but many Canadians still have not heard it. "It's the same reality for a lot of artists in Quebec," says Bazini, "A lot of artists that are celebrities in Quebec, that if they walk in the streets they will be recognized by everyone, but if they go to Ottawa they are nobody."

Bazini says with each new album there is a building pressure to make sure the new record is better than the last. The songwriter says, "I'm getting some amazing response on 'C'est La Vie' across the country, which is the first time I'm getting something like this out of a song." His latest single has amassed nearly a quarter of a million views since it was released last month.

"Before it was only Francophones, now it's changing," explains Bazini on his evolving audience. He still wonders why he appealed to a French audience when the music he wrote was in English and acknowledges that the English-speaking audience outside Quebec didn't take as much notice.  Regardless, Bazini still believes that "music probably has no language really."
