Putin's Games, a deeply critical documentary directed by Alexander Gentelev, casts a harsh light on the upcoming Olympic games in Sochi. The film examines everything from evidence of political corruption and a ballooning budget to environmental degradation and alleged human rights violations.

Guest host Kevin Sylvester speaks to the film's executive producer, Simone Baumann, about the film's provocative thesis, cash offers to bury the film, and how audiences are reacting to its meaty investigation.

Putin's Games will air on CBC's The Passionate Eye on Saturday, January 4 at 10 p.m. ET (CBC News Network) and will be available online for a limited time following the broadcast.
