Subversive cartoonist Steve Murray, aka Chip Zdarsky, isn't exactly known for kid-friendly work. But when he got the offer to work on an Archie Comics reboot centred around the character Jughead, it was an opportunity he couldn't refuse.

Murray grew up on the comics, and he has a special affinity for the hamburger-loving sidekick — the company's president even commented on how much he resembles the character. But don't expect any of the risqué material Murray has become known for to creep into his version of the comic — that's not the kind of reinvention he's after.
