John Fogerty shares confessions of a Fortunate Son
Creedence Clearwater Revival frontman John Fogerty details the hard work that followed the short-lived good times in his new memoir, Fortunate Son.
John Fogerty was "scared to death" of being a one hit wonder — so it's little wonder that the Creedence Clearwater Revival frontman named his new memoir, Fortunate Son, after one of his band's many classics.
Fogerty is the gritty, mighty-voiced singer behind 60s staples like Have You Ever Seen The Rain, Down on the Corner and Bad Moon Rising. He joins guest host Talia Schlanger to discuss how band's relatively short run had a remarkably sustained influence on music. He also reflects on the tensions that sunk the band, the dark years that followed, and the modest way he'd like to be remembered.
