Quebec actress Evelyne Brochu on breaking language barriers
Evelyne Brochu is an established star in Quebec, but is increasingly making her mark in English film and TV. She joins Rachel Giese to talk about her roles in the sci-fi series Orphan Black and the CBC miniseries X Company.
Film and television actress Evelyne Brochu is already an established star in Quebec and a favourite of top directors -- including Oscar nominees Denis Villeneuve and Jean-Marc Vallee. But these days, the Canadian Screen Award nominee is also turning heads in English-speaking circles.
Brochu joins guest host Rachel Giese to discuss how switching languages changes her performance, her multi-layered role in the new CBC miniseries X Company, and how she channels an exaggerated French accent for her Orphan Black character, Delphine.
The New CBC show X Company premieres February 18 at 9 p.m.
