Bleachers brings Strange Desire to Studio Q

FUN guitarist and songwriter Jack Antonoff performs live from his dazzling solo album.

It was a well-kept secret that while NYC-based indie pop band Fun. were blowing up, their guitarist, Jack Antonoff, was busy prepping his first solo album as Bleachers.

Antonoff, who shines in his role as frontman, has infused Strange Desire with sweet hooks and epic pop songwriting. He joins Jian to talk about finding his voice, writing on the road, and collaborating with the likes of Grimes, Vince Clarke of Depeche Mode, and Yoko Ono.

Antonoff, backed by Jon Shiffman (drum pad) and Evan Smith (vocals), also performs two songs from the new album.

'Wanting to get better is more important than being better'

In one of the interview's most candid moments, Antonoff opens up about his struggles with anxiety and why he believes it takes decades to understand our bodies and take better care of ourselves.

"I've never talked to myself the way I would a friend in need," he tells Jian, adding that we should be at least as kind to ourselves as we are to others.
