Mandy Moore on how This is Us reignited her passion for acting

Before landing the role of Rebecca Pearson on the hit TV series This is Us, Mandy Moore says she was "really contemplating" whether or not she should continue pursuing an acting career. However, Moore tells q's Tom Power that, after reading the pilot script, she's glad she gave acting another shot: "I know I'll be part of something that I'm proud of."
Her role in This is Us is a departure for Moore. Not only does her character's plot span 20-plus years, but she also says she's never played a mother or a wife onscreen and the challenge to step into those roles, while foreign to her, was something she was excited to try. "Just having no point of reference as to what it's like to have that kind of love and responsibility outside of yourself, and I didn't know at the time that I'd be playing this character from 23 to 66, so this [is a] fully evolved and fully formed person," says Moore.
Moore tells Power about her own dreams for motherhood and watching birthing videos on YouTube and even dishes on the potential for a return to music.
