Why do banks charge ATM fees?
This week the federal NDP called for a cap on the fees that banks charge for the use of ATMs. They claim the banks are gouging consumers with fees as high as five dollars per transaction. But Maura Drew-Lytle of the Canadian Bankers Association says bank machine infrastructure is expensive and those fees are just the price of convenience....
