Today on The Current:

In Norway House, Man., Randal Apetagon grew up feeling he was different from other members of his family, but not understanding what that difference was. Recently, he's come to believe that he's actually the grandson of a Roman Catholic priest, dating back to a time when his grandmother was forced to attend a residential school. CBC national reporter Cameron MacIntosh tells us what Apetagon has found. We also discuss the wider issue with Vincent Doyle, who in his late 20s learned his own biological father was a Roman Catholic priest. He's since started Coping International, a charity to support the children of priests.

Plus, Canadian singer Justin Bieber is facing calls to cancel his appearance at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix this weekend. He's been urged to not play into what Human Rights Foundation calls "the regime's strategy of whitewashing human rights abuses." We talk to Aya Batrawy, an Associated Press reporter in the Arabian Peninsula; and Farida Deif, the Canada director of Human Rights Watch.

And the COVID-19 pandemic has complicated — and in some cases halted — the fight against HIV/AIDS. We talk about that impact with Hombisa Ntsikanye, an implementer and developer of the HIV and AIDS program at Blue Roof Life Space in Durban, South Africa; and Mitchell Warren, executive director of the AIDS Vaccine Advocacy Coalition.
