Eden Robinson, the award-winning Haisla and Heiltsuk author, spoke with Unreserved host Falen Johnson about her anticipated novel Return of the Trickster, the third and final book in her bestselling Trickster trilogy.

"I know when a novel is done when I wake up in the morning and it's not the first thing that I think about, and it's not the last thing I think about when I go to sleep," said Robinson.

Robinson has been immersed in the Trickster trilogy for years. The first novel in the series, Son of a Trickster, was published in 2017. Robinson described leaving the Trickster characters behind as a "mutual breakup."

"This is like that awkward time when you've both agreed not to see each other anymore, but you live in the same apartment," Robinson joked.

"You're being really polite with each other, but you're both still hurt. Everything's a little raw, and you're trying to decide who gets the toaster."
