The NHL playoffs can bring out the best in players and fans alike. Everything is heightened, players are at their maximum #becauseitsthecup, and fans wear their team pride on their sleeve, on their faces and, of course, on their #CBCHockeyMug.

But sometimes the heightened excitement of the playoffs can bring out the worst.

You've probably heard of Katie and Annie Kerrick, the Senators fans who were verbally and physically assaulted by Canadiens fans during Game 2 of the series. 

Sens and Habs fans alike were upset about the negative experience the girls had.


The negative turned into a positive for Annie and Katie as they were invited by the Senators to watch Game 3 from a private box.


But is the heightened aggression in hockey spilling over into the stands?
