Sens' Pageau, Habs' Gallagher put fight on back burner

Brace yourselves. There may be a fight in the Senators-Canadiens series. That is if you believe the conversation between Habs winger Brendan Gallagher and Sens centre Jean-Gabriel Pageau.

So far it's just talk, but Ottawa's running out of time

Lightweights Brendan Gallagher and Jean-Gabriel Pageau caught on mic discussing when and where to drop the gloves

After all the hitting, slashing and talking, there may finally be a fight in the first-round series between the Montreal Canadiens and Ottawa Senators.

Just not in Game 3.

"Later in the series, maybe?" asked Senators centre Jean-Gabriel Pageau.

"Yeah. Yeah," replied Habs winger Brendan Gallagher before separating.

Tale of the tape

In the Habs corner, Gallagher boasts a paltry 0-3-1 record, with the split-decision bout coming this year against Tampa Bay's Vladislav Namestnikov, according to Hockeyfights.com.

Pageau's lone fight, meanwhile, was brief but promising. He unleashed several big right hooks on Toronto Maple Leafs defenceman T.J. Brennan before getting pinned to the ice.

While the fight didn't happen Sunday night, there's a chance these two (or two others) could throw down some fists at some point this series.

After all, Montreal is up 3-0 in the series.
