After living through five decades of Canadian winter, the Carlson family has made it to their 6th and final decade — the 1990s — where they reflect on their experiences thus far.

After 50 years of living through Canadian winters, the Carlson family has made it to the final decade in the experiment, the 1990s! As gender roles shift, Melanie gets some me-time with a winter power walk and home foot spa, while Dave must take on '90s dad duty in the kitchen and in front of the BBQ.

The couple's patience — and relationship —  are put to the test with the ultimate 90s home decor challenge: wallpapering. Meanwhile, daughters Lauren, Alex, and Chelsey experience teenage life as their parents did: from snowboarding in oversized grunge looks, to getting crafty with homemade scrunchies. As the end of the experiment draws near, so does winter.

Spring is in the air, and on the driveway, as the family takes on a game of ball hockey as a fun farewell to this winter experiment.
