When Steven Scarlett set out to build a new house near the coast of British Columbia, he had two goals in mind: to harness his fascination with modern architecture to create a truly unique space, and to honour the property's lush greenery with the structure that would become his home. The result was a sleek, minimalist residence filled with wood and concrete accents, a 'non-kitchen' — with no appliances or shelving in sight — and walls of floor-to-ceiling windows that slide away and open to the outdoors.
