TransLink estimates that by 2021, about 70,000 passengers will travel each day between Lougheed Town Centre in Burnaby and the terminus at Larfarge Lake-Douglas in Coquitlam.
The project had a number of delays and problems during its construction period, including the appearance of four sinkholes during tunnel boring, and the shifting of a large segment of the elevated concrete track bed.
The line includes six new stations and a new, third platform at Lougheed Town Centre.
