RCMP investigating multiple shootings overnight in Surrey, Burnaby

Investigators in Burnaby and Surrey continue to investigate the shootings. It's unknown if either of the incidents are related to each other.

Targeted shootings in Surrey and Burnaby kept police investigators busy; unknown if any were related

Surrey RCMP are investigating a shooting that took place in a mall on the Surrey-Delta border Friday night.

A resident who lives in the area told CBC News he heard a number of gunshots around 10:24 p.m. PT.

Police said the shots were fired at an unoccupied vehicle, a black SUV parked at a mall in the 8000-block of 120 Street.

Surrey RCMP say no one was injured in the shooting, and believe the shooting was targeted.

They are asking for anyone who may have witnessed the shooting to contact them.

Shooting at Burnaby karaoke venue

Meanwhile, at about 4:30 a.m., police in Burnaby responded to another shooting in front of a karaoke venue on Imperial Street near Sellers Avenue.

There were no victims in that incident, but Cpl. Bill Iggulden with Burnaby RCMP said the shooting was also likely targeted.

"The shots were directed towards the karaoke bar," said Iggulden.

Investigators in both cities will be looking more into the shootings today. It's unknown if either of the incidents are related to each other.
