Surrey RCMP are investigating another homicide after shots were fired early Sunday.

Police say they received a call of "shots fired" just before 3 a.m. PT at 126 Street and 88A Avenue in Surrey, B.C.

A car could be seen crashed into a pole at that intersection.

One man was taken to hospital, but the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team [IHIT] has since confirmed he died.

The RCMP's K-9 unit was deployed to the area immediately following the shooting to assist in the search for clues.

IHIT is now on scene and has taken over the investigation. It's the 23rd shooting in Surrey and North Delta since March 9.

Last week, Surrey RCMP released photos of gang shooting victims, whose lack of cooperation they said was endangering public safety.
